My husband just got out of the military and may be accepting a job in Columbus this week. The job is on the upper west side. We would have to relocate from Cleveland suburbs to Columbus in the next few weeks. we are looking to rent first so we can become familiar with the area. We are looking for a 2 bedroom preferably a house or town home style. The budget is around 1000-1300. We have a 3 year old so I am looking for somewhere near a good preschool.she is currently in a top rated Fit but Five preschool that is a couple hours a day a few days a week. Most preschools I am finding are more along the lines of daycare centers though. I was looking and Worthington, Hilliard, and Dublin. I am currently a full time student and am looking to transfer to OSU to finish my degree. Any suggestions or tips would be much appreciated!
Also Cleveland Scene has Best of 2017 survey they do each year with local businesses schools etc that they survey and rate. Does Columbus have anything similar? I'd love to have some resources for when we move!
Thanks

Worthington Preschool and St. John's preschool on High Street in Worthington are both great part-time preschools, not daycares. School for Young Children in Clintonville is also a reputable preschool and only about 10 minutes from Worthington. Dublin Community Preschool on W Bridge Street inDublin is a good Dublin preschool that is not a daycare. 614 Magazine does a best of Survey. You can find the results on their website if you google 614 Magazine columbus. Hope this helps!

In addition to the aforementioned 614 Magazine, Columbus Alive (alt-weekly) and Columbus Monthly (magazine) do best-of lists. You might also want to check out Columbus Underground, which is a website with a lot of info about local businesses.

Honestly the best way to find a part-time preschool (most are affiliated with churches but they will vary in terms of their religiosity) is to join a few local Facebook moms/parents groups and ask for recommendations. The ones already mentioned are great, as are North Broadway Children's Center and Overbrook Preschool (both in Clintonville) and this one in Grandview: First Community Church » Preschool. I'm sure there are a ton in Dublin and Hilliard (both nice suburbs on the west side of Columbus proper), but I'm not familiar with those neighborhoods. If you find FB moms groups for those areas, try to join and then ask for recs.

I would recommend Hilliard. Its close to OSU with great freeway accessibility (I70, I270) and it's a great and affordable place to raise a family with great school systems.
