In a previous thread, people said Gahanna schools were a tier below Hilliard. Is that true? It seems like Hilliard and Gahanna are about equal distance to Ohio State - is that true? Also, Worthington houses north of I-270 seem noticeably less expensive than closer to the main old town square drag in Worthington. Are the schools in that part of Worthington (north of I-270) still better than Hilliard & Gahanna? And perception of school districts is important to me as well for resale values.

Yes. School districts or perception of school district is VERY important when it comes to resale value in Central Ohio. Even within the same school district e.g Dublin school district where there are 3 high schools...there are differences. Houses under the Dublin Jerome High school district will in general have a higher asking price than houses under the Dublin Coffman HS or Dublin Scioto HS.
In term of Worthington school district vs Hilliard and Gahanna school district...my preference is for Hilliard school district.

while u are doing your dry run, remember to include current construction project and future infrastructure improvement into your considerations e.g.

I like the Worthington area though we would likely have a smaller house with a smaller yard for the same money (though that isn't necessarily a bad thing). How are the areas in Columbus around Worthington? My only experiences have been driving through Clintonville and around the Polaris area and both seem fairly nice. Also, how are the schools in and around Worthington (both public and private)? There does seem to be a spread if you look at the school ratings, even within Worthington itself.

Worthington is nice! I love downtown worthington and walking along the river. I have dr and speech pathologist friends who send their kids to public worthington schools without issues.
