Just asking because sometimes I feel as if CBus is liberal and then other times I feel as if CBus is very conservative. So I'm mixed. There are definitely some things I don't like about CBus (which isn't PC to talk about so I will just leave it at that), but then there are some things that I do like about CBus (like commute times and etc).

What are your thoughts?

The city itself is fairly liberal as are some of the inner-ring suburban areas. It gets very conservative once you go to the outside 270, and particularly once you leave Franklin County.

I feel it is a very moderate city with slight liberal leanings. I have lived in very conservative places (OKC) and very liberal places (NYC) and Columbus is a very happy medium for me. Not too many of the lunatics from either extreme here.

Columbus is pretty socially liberal but not extreme like Seattle, SF or NYC. Columbus is a bit like Nashville liberal in the city and county but conservative in the metro area.

Franklin County is pretty liberal, with a few exceptions. Here were the spreads for each place for the 2016 election. The numbers are Democratic % points minus Republican % points.

Urbancrest: +74.92
Riverlea: +46.86
Bexley: +44.74
Grandview: +43.15
Columbus: +38.72
Whitehall: +32.34
Worthington: +30.38
Marble Cliff: +27.57
Minerva Park: +17.91
Reynoldsburg: +15.91
Upper Arlington: +14.66
Gahanna: +10.25
Westerville: +5.99
Hilliard: +4.05
Dublin: +2.02
New Albany: -1.54
Township Total: -10.61
Groveport: -10.99
Canal Winchester: -20.33
Obetz: -20.66
Valleyview: -21.46
Grove City: -21.57

This suggests that the stereotype of about the southern suburbs being conservative seems to hold true. Grovetucky earned its reputation. New Albany was the only northern suburb to go Trump, and only slightly.
Most of the Franklin County places moved further to the left this election, and some completely switched to blue after being red in elections in the recent past.

As the thread continues, remember that this is not the politics forum and any sort of fighting, even if you feel you are right, will not be tolerated.

I'm not convinced that looking at election results is a particularly good indicator of how liberal or conservative an area is. Clinton won Franklin County handily, 60-34%. However, the Strickland-Portman race was much closer: 51.4-44.4%. So presidentially speaking, the Democrat won by 26 points, but in the Senate, the Democrat won 7 points. But even still, we would still have to establish that Clinton was actually a "liberal" and Trump a "conservative", both of which seem a bit dubious to me.

Strickland doesn’t have a great reputation in Ohio, so that played a role in his numbers.
