Hi all,

My daughter will be moving to Columbus this summer to attend grad school at OSU and we're looking for a rental for her.

She'll have a small budget for rent (less than 1,000 but 700-800 would be better), so small is okay, but hopefully not too run-down and definitely in a safe area. A small house/duplex/townhome with a fenced yard would be ideal as she has a 60 pound dog.

Any advice on where to start our search (we know nothing about Columbus) would be very much appreciated.

Also, is it helpful to use some sort of leasing agent/realtor and if so, does anyone have a good recommendation?

Thanks so much in advance!

There's a nice little collection of older apartments on High Street about a block or two north of Lane Avenue. My son lived there when he was at OSU a few years back. Nice place, manager on site, even had a nice little front porch. Very walkable to campus as well as restaurants & shops. Rent a few years ago was around $ 500.
