I would like to move around the Columbus area and teach maybe in Columbus or the suburbs. I like Granville, it's seems quaint, yet has high emphasis on education. I also like that you can buy a decent size home with at least 2 acreas for around $300,000. BY NYC standards that's really good.

I lived in Granville when I was young (for 11 years). It was a beautiful, quaint, historical, college town. I only have fond memories of the place.
I can't help you with any of your questions because it's been 30 years since I lived there. But I would love to go back and visit it some day.

Granville is very nice. The only downside is that it is very expensive to live there. Coming from NY, it would probably seem reasonable to you though. Licking County as a whole is a great place to live. ( I live in Pataskala ) If I had the cash, I would move to Granville in a second. Good luck on your move!

Having been raised near Granville and paid taxes in the area, it is a bit higher, but it is a very safe and quaint area. Newark and Hebron have their own school districts and are not in the Granville district. Having gone through the Granville school system all 12 grades, I can tell you that you are getting the best education in Licking County! Good luck.
