Most likely moving to Columbus area in the next 4-5 months. We love golf and would love to live on a course. We are 37 and 42 with a 10 month old daughter. We have looked and found beautiful homes on all of these courses but really don't know the differences between them. I can guess but any inside info would be helpful. Thanks in advance for your help!

Muirfield is pretty famous for the Memorial Tournament held there each year.

I cant speak for the other country clubs but my parents have been wedgewood members for over 15 years and I can say its the best course I have ever played. It has everything u could ever want from a ohio course. and when u factor in what a great place powell is to live in u cant go wrong. I would also guess that it is one of the easier clubs to join but I really have no point of reference in regards to the other clubs.

My husband and I love to play golf, too! A few years ago I belonged to a ladies golf group named "Chicks with Sticks" our mission was to play every course in Central OH. We came close... there are a ton of courses in Central Ohio.

I am also an exclusive buyer's real estate agent for Revealty. So, I can help you from both a golfer and agent perspective to help you find information.

All of these communities are within the same general area; however, there are a few different school districts generally associated with them; Tartan & Muirfield are Dublin schools, Wedgewood is mostly Olentangy, but some Dublin, and Kinsale is mostly Olentangy with a few exceptions. Even though your daughter isn't out of diapers, yet, school district should be an important criteria to you for resale purposes. Also, the property taxes vary for these areas, too.

Someone else posted info re: the Memorial Tournament at Muirfield, that's played the week/weekend after Memorial Day at the Muirfield Championship Course; there's also the Muirfield Village Country Club course. Tartan also has multiple courses. By the way, Tartan Ridge is the site for the Central Ohio Parade of Homes for 2009.

The price range for just these areas is 400,000 to 4,000,000! And, there are many other golfing developments that are very nice. I doubt you'd be too disappointed with the golfing at any of these clubs; they are all nice, some nicer than others. My point/comments in a nut shell--there are a lot of other factors to consider in your Central Ohio real estate investment, if your path continues to lead you to our area.

If you'd like for me to send you additional information on school districts, taxes, properties, golf course ratings, etc... please Direct Message (mod edit) me, I'd be happy to provide you with helpful links, information, and insight.

Could you give me the names of the most expensive sub-divisions within Muirfield Village?

I don't recall the subdivisions, but there are some pretty expensive homes on Whittingham Drive, on the east side of Muirfield Dr. The golf course is behind the homes on both sides of the road.

Also, there are some really nice homes on Reserve Dr, which is just west of Dublin Rd, to the north of Memorial Dr.
