I'm looking for a good web design book. Mostly I need to know how to create fancy or nice looking websites that have a good menu system. I created my resume website but it's menu is pathetic using the simple to create Spry Menu Bar in Dreamweaver CS5. So mostly, I need to know how to code a fancy menu system or maybe how to use Dreamweaver with Fireworks to create a fancy menu system.
I use Adobe Master Collection CS5 to create websites. And I'd say I'm entry level at this stuff.
Got good web design books you have or can recommend?
It's pretty cheap and very simple to read, yet goes indepth at the same time. I ended up reading it like a novel in one sitting... that's how easy the author is to follow.

Are you creative enough? This is just like art, either you have it or don't. I can write the markup but my skills are bit lacking in design. "Design" is more of about how a site looks and how a user interacts with it. A lot of companies employ people just for this purpose, they may know very little or nothing about HTML. The site would be created in something like an image editor and then handed to someone like me that can make it happen...
As far as the fancy menus go do a search for CSS menu or javascript menu. There's plenty of examples available.
Yeah, I have to admit I'm not very creative or original enough in creating artistic and beautiful unique websites. I guess my websites will look primitive until I upgrade my web design skills a lot.

I am in the same boat, lacking in design ability. I always say I am so bad I can't draw a crooked line.
I suggest modifying an existing template. Many templates have the menu systems built in. Good design is about simplicity, clarity and consistency. A lot of people get carried away with frills and end up making a mess.
