Canned air to blow them out, and/or a vacuum cleaner to suck them out. If you use a vacuum, be aware of the possibility that you could potentially suck up the keys themselves and you can also create static by using a vacuum. So it's not recommended unless that's the only way to get them out. Make sure you turn off the laptop first regardless of how you choose to clean it. You could also try cotton swabs moistened with a little alcohol to gently clean in between the keys.

Have you tried putting the whole thing in the dishwasher, on the posts & pans cycle?

Seriously though, with the laptop off, I turn it upside down and shake it, then wipe the keyboard down with a keyboard cleaning wipe.

If you remember DEC VT-100 terminals, you could put the keyboards from those in the dishwasher.

Cyber Clean actually works pretty well but it is gets to be unuseable pretty quickly. Sometimes you can find it at Target.

We're talking a liquid-cooled computer with a top of the line GTX 285 vid card, 12 gig of ram, and Windows 7 64-bit Premium, and it looked about like those pictures. Took a featherbrush, 2 cans of air, and an electronics vac to get that thing cleaned up. Altogether, about 2 hours. Personally, if I let my computer get that bad I'd stop building them....

I had it for 8 years, and NEVER EVER did it even come close to looking that nasty. I'm pretty opinionated when it comes to this stuff, but I firmly believe if a person is going to own a computer, they need to learn how to take care of it.
