I don't have a preference for any brands or models of prebuilt computers. I only have preferences for the hardware that is used in computers.

There are some brands that are higher quality than the rest. For example, ThinkPad(T,X,W_ and Toughbooks are higher quality than Inspirons and Pavilions. They all will likely use the same processor, ram, hard drive and gpu... but there are differences in the keyboard, chassis, screens, motherboard, sensors, etc.

The difference is in their target audiences. With the lower quality brands, the manufacturers are trying to target the value audience. With the higher quality brands, the manufacturers are trying to target business and field users.

Keep in mind that everything you read here is someone's opinion...

Consider that a current generation laptop will be obsolete in a couple of years and you stand a chance of getting a lemon from all vendors.

Instead of relying on opinions of posters here why not go out to the websites that sell laptops and read the reviews. You'll get feedback on actual usage of the laptops rather than a bunch of C-D opinions of what they like and don't like...

Reviews across the board are all opinions.

OP, you should define some specific criteria that you want to satisfy and see which one meets (or comes close to) all those.
