Ever so often, the search function won't work in Explorer or when using the Start menu search box. The system says that there are no matches. Then, at other times, it will return hits.
I ran indexing a few days ago. My system "seems" to not have problems with file names. Sometimes, it will find content within a file; other times, it will not. It is intermittent.
The option to index has only presented itself once. Perhaps, I ran indexing on one directory only.
I looked at what was selected on the Folder Options Tab. I think I need to select "Always search contents," but before I do, I would rather get some feedback.
The two sentences below show what is selected on my Folders Option tab:
In indexed locations, search file name and contents.
In non-indexed locations, search file names only.
I Googled to see if others have experienced this problem; however, some go into the registry, which I ain't doing. If the person trying to help types one thing wrong, I can't decipher the syntax to correct it.
