Well, recently I posted a problem about my sister's computer but now mine seems to be having issues. Shouldn't have run that scandisk I guess. After that it was all downhill. Anyway,

I have a Sony Viao, VGN-SR520G running Windows 7. Today I downloaded a few windows updates, ran the scandisk and deleted a few temp files. After doing this I noticed the computer was slow and upon restarting I am receiving an error, Vaio Mode Switch - Application initialization failed, preventing launch. Please restart computer. (done 3x). If applications do not launch after restart, please reinstall Vaio Mode Switch. (what is this and what do I do?) I restored once and it went through ok but if I try to do again it says there was some error and not functioning correctly. Any help once again is much appreciated.

Well after playing with the computer a bit I was about to get the restore done and now I am not receiving the error.. however, it is still quite slow. I booted using the safe mode and per the speed test it was great. Other suggestions?

You need to clarify "slow"

Which speed test? Internet speed? CPU/video?

If it runs 100% normal in Safe mode with networking I'd start looking at what is being loaded at startup.

Well, I decided to use my recovery disk and install everything again. So far so good.

Are you doing a full system restore where everything is erased to day one or just an windows restore that just overwrites the operating system?

I did a whole windows restore. Everything has gone well except the Sony Vaio Care will not update. I have been to Sony's website and uploaded the newest drivers for this but still not working. It seems to update but when I launch the Vaio Care it is the old version. Any ideas?
