When I double click on "My Computer", a screen opens that shows the Drives on my computer.
Local Disk (C), CD-RW Drive (D) and DVD-RAM Drive (E).
I have a Floppy Drive and there used to be an icon for that too, however it is no longer showing and I have not removed the that Floppy Drive.

I tried inserting a floppy disk into it, and nothing happens.
Could it have accidently been deleted?
I have not removed the Floppy Drive so how do I get it activated again?

BTW,.... it's not because I use floppy disks. It's because I am wanting to transfer information from some old floppy disks I have, so I can toss them out.

Want to add..... I checked in the Device Manager and the Floppy Drive isn't listed there like it used to be

Reboot your computer when it state to press a certain key to enter setup or bios, do it.Find the line for the A drive and set it enable. Save and exit. If after the computer is up again and the icon is still missing, then shut off the computer and unplug it from electricity. Open the cover and verify if the power cable is connected by unplugging it and replugging it. Do the same thing with the data cable. Reseat the connections on the motherboard and on the floppy. Close the cover, replug the power and turn it back on. If its still not working then most likely the floppy drive is bad or a motherboard issue. If the data is important, then go to ebay and order a USB external floppy drive for about $10 including delivery. Good luck.

I checked the BIOS and it says "Not Installed"
That is very strange because it was there before.

So now what ? Should I do what you suggested..... Open the cover etc ?

If your system has a floppy, it's probably quite old. It's entirely possible that your drive has failed. Solution:

usb fdd - Google Search

Unlike hard drive and cd-rom settings, the floppy setting in some BIOS firmware is not automatic, meaning it will not change from "not installed" even if the floppy drive is connected. Go back into BIOS setup and see if you can change the setting, probably to 1.44 3.5"

It never showed "not installed" in the BIOS before.

I don't see anyway to change the setting in BIOS

Would doing a "System Restore" to an earlier date fix it?

No, the BIOS has nothing to do with the operating system, restoring Windows will not get the BIOS to show the drive is installed.
