The problems with Outlookhave been well documented and Microsoft makes little effort to fix them. I had a problem with a download I received when I helped them prosecute a pirate. The OUtllet download was on my laptop which died and we called for another . 9 different people we switched to answered the same question the same way--they don't know enough English to listen and we got transfered aroun the 9 times. THe last one took our number and promised a call -fat chance of that -it never happened.

WHen they needed my help -they were able to contact me and respond immeditately. THe programs Apple has with its recent computers are better. Avoid Microsoft.

LOL, it was a pot calling the kettle black kind of post wasn't it. OP, your grasp of the English language isn't all that impressive either, I'm still wondering what it is that you're trying to say, your post makes little if any sense.

LOL. I can't relate because i never use outlook but I too can't understand what's your beef. Especially with this:

WHen they needed my help -they were able to contact me and respond immeditately.

So you helped Microsoft? with what? and that bit about a pirate...

I compare Outlook to some piece of military hardware that's awesome when it works, but takes 10 hours of maintenance for every hour in service. I advise everyone who can to just use Gmail.

When it's the corporate standard there's no other option, but I could never imagine calling their call center for help. If our IT people can't figure it out it's not worth doing. What they have to do maintaining it is not my problem, that's why we have IT.

LMAO at everyone avoiding Outlook. I've been using it for years with absolutely no problems, as has Mrs. Tek.

You probably also don't keep 70,000 messages in your inbox or let your pst file grow to 10+ GB either. Unless they're actively managed, people do that all the time which only increases the chance of Outlook crapping the bed. Of course its liable to do that even when it hasn't been abused.

Same here. Used it since Office 97, now in 2007.

My personal PST is 1.8 GB + .5 GB archive, and my work one is 1.2 GB with a 1.9 GB archive.

While I'm sure it happens, I've had no real issues in all of these years, and do 0 maintenance.

The main problem is that there's really no good alternative.
