Hello!

I am trying to change the name of my sparsebundle. When I mount it, it shows up as /Volumes/Personal. I want to change it to be something else. I have changed the name of the file from Personal.sparsebundle to DataPersonal.sparsebundle and yet it still mounts as /Volumes/Personal. How can I fix this?

Thanks!

This was from one of the websites...and it worked:

hdiutil attach old.sparsebundle -mountroot .
diskutil rename old_label new_label
hdiutil detach old_label
hdiutil attach old.sparsebundle -mountroot .

One thing to note is that my drive image was encrypted and I put the password in my keychain while doing this since I didn't see a place to do password. Others may want to keep that in mind if it doesn't work.

You're welcome. One of my pet peeves is when people don't respond to let others know if it worked or not.

Thanks for the link
