This morning I was going to check for the latest Windows updates.
I did as I have always done in the past.... Clicked on Start-->Windows Update.
However,... instead of the usual screen I got a window that said "this page has been blocked because it contains Malware" and that I should Download Panda.
I did not click on it.... but instead backed out and then did a MSSE Scan. No threats were detected. Then I did a scan with Malwarebytes and no threats were detected.
I even used CCleaner registery clean.
Then I went back to "Start-->Windows Update" and the same screen appears.
Does anyone know what is happening here ?
Here is a "screen shot" of what happens

It looks like something is trying to redirect you away from Windows update. The last time I had a redirection problem, I installed TDSSKiller (it's free). It found the culprit and deleted it.

If you want to try that, you can download TDSSKiller from this link (it's free).... it's under:

1. How to disinfect a compromised system.

Good luck.

Two questions. Do you have any toolbars installed? (If so, remove them.)

Do you have a proxy server set? Most ISP settings work fine without one.

After being away from my computer most of the day. When I got back this afternoon I tried again..... Clicked on Start-->Windows Update.
This time it brought up the Microsoft Update Site, so everything seems to be back to normal again.

I don't have any toolbars installed. And I do not have a proxy server set.

I don't think it was anything on my computer.
I think probably the Microsoft Website must have been hijacked or something and they caught it.

I am kind of surprised no one else on this forum had it happen to them.

Anyway... I'm glad everything seems to back to normal.

Forgot to add to my post......
I am surprised that Panda would try to trick customers that way to get sales.
Makes me not want to ever even consider getting Panda now.

I'm not surprised at all, very common practice with free apps. I would suspect however that the issue is your computer, and not the "hijack" of Microsoft's Windows update servers.

Keep in mind that MSE and Malwarebytes scans are only as good as their definitions, just because they say you're clean doesn't mean you are.

The reason I think it was not my computer is because I did not do anything to change things.
After the last try this morning when I posted on this forum, I turned my computer off and I was gone most of the day.
This afternoon when I turned my computer back on and I tried again the Microsoft Update page came up.
