Microsoft Office Word blocks opening of certain files--ready for the twist?

It only occurs to documents ending with an even number. Adding the file's storage location to the Microsoft Office Word 'Trusted Locations' in the Trust Center allows the documents to open.

Which curse of the computer gods could possibly cause this? Any takers?

So if you name a document 100.docx it will not open, but when you re-name it 101.docx it will open?

The only "curse" here is the curse of an end user screwing around with the settings in Word and causing a problem they then blame on someone (anyone) else since they couldn't possibly be to blame.
