I've been using Windows since 95 and 7 is my favorite version yet. My neighbor has Windows 8 and it's a disaster. They run a little home business which requires them to transfer pictures from their digital camera and for whatever reason that's a fussy process with Windows 8.

For me, Windows 8 has been the WORST OS I have ever used.....very buggy and slow. I tried upgrading to 8.1.....LOL, that just made things worse. Well, let's just say I am now a LOT more familiar with the blue-screen-of-death.

I have been using W-8.1 for over a month now and I do not have any issues whatsoever with it.

I think it is better than W-7.

Not sure what all the fuss is about, unless you all have issues with W-8; fortunately I didn't have to use it, but W-8.1 is easy to use.

Windows ME was the most unstable. I had no stability problems with the Win8 Consumer Preview, but I found it hugely cumbersome to work with. Too much time wasted trying to find features. No touch screen = don't bother with Metro interface at all. I went from WinXP to a laptop with Vista Home, no problems. Then from that to Win7 Pro, a bit of initial confusion but that was quickly resolved with a little reading.

But with Win8, I actually put in a lot of time and effort trying to figure out the "new" way of working, and using the product as-is, and I did this daily for at least a month before resorting to Classic Shell. Too much change, and absolutely no benefit I could see to Win8, except fast to start up b/c it puts the PC into a hibernate state instead of completely shutting it down. Cheating, lol.
