I wouldn't buy an ACER as it has terrible parts. Get the HP or Samsung. As with any device its the luck of the draw. So a guesstimate would be 2-3 years on the brands I listed and much less on an Acer device IMHO owning two devices made by Acer. Keep in mind with Acer when its in warranty YOU have to pay for shipping. I have a Acer C720 mini laptop (not Chrome) and it had two motherboard replacements and a wifi card replacement all in the first year of ownership. The only program I run on it now is Quickbooks. I also have a Ultrabook from Acer and after awhile the plastic case softened up and started splitting at the seams around the screen. It now sits in the closet as a backup computer (I work in IT and tear trough notebooks pretty quickly due to heavy usage, not through abuse).

I have an Acer Netbook still working fine after 5 years. It's XP and cannot handle upgrade to 7 or 8 so I recently replaced it with an ASUS which seems fine so far, and was only $239.
There is no way to answer your question, no one knows how long any electronic device will last. My answer to these types of questions is it could be dead out of the box or it could last 10 years.
4 or 5 years easy. They are simple & are upgraded automatically by Google for 5 years.
