So recently I have been having a problem with my laptop as of late. Whenever I plug in my laptop it dosent charge. I noticed that if I wiggle the connector I have a wobbly connector as well. I have had my laptop for 5 years and I would like to know what can I do about my laptop and it's bad charger as well as if it's wobbly? I don't want to pay a lot of money for a new one and I don't really want to go to a repair shop any time soon. So what can I do with my busted laptop Jack and how to fix it?

This is a common issue and I'm sorry to report that if you have a wiggley power port... then your solder joints on the port itself have become worn out and you're pretty SOL.

If this computer is a cheaper one that you don't really NEED to save, then start looking for another one or get quotes on a fix.

More than likely, the fix for it will not be worth the cost when a little more will get you a brand new laptop

edit: Yes, also make sure the charger works at all lol

Are you sure you don't just need a new charger? Test it with a voltmeter and find out if it's putting out voltage.

When the charger is plugged in does the icon change to charging? If not, the least expensive way to find is to get to someone who has a meter to test the charger or if you can't order one from ebay. Considering its age, it may me a dead battery that will not be recognized as even being there. Thus the battery would need to be replaced.

Generally, I pay about $99 locally to have this common problem fixed.

Probably I noticed that my cord has some issues and looks broken in some points so I may just need to get a new one.
