Does anybody know what a crash dump is? my computer does that every time I get on and the mouse has a mind of its own. It is very very slow and I pay for high speed.....When do you know it is time to get a new computer ???? HELP
More info would be nice. On the blue screen (if you get one) there is information that will help.
It looks something like this. The information associated with "The problem seems to be caused by...", the capitalized line below it, and the two lines under Technical Information is what you want to give us.
With every Windows crash there is a *.dmp file generated. Unfortunately you have to download some software to correctly read the *.dmp file.
You can use event-viewer after the crash......it will give you a less complete, but accurate summary of what caused the crash:
right-click start > event viewer > custom views > administrative events
