You clearly didn't know what the steps you were posting actually did, yet for some reason felt the need to tell other people to follow them, which strikes me as more than a bit irresponsible (though in this case it's harmless as the prefetcher is already set to 3). The thread title is, of course, completely bogus.
Why don't you read the wikipedia page I linked to earlier, which tells what the prefetcher does and what the different values do.
What's with this crap lately on these forums? People posting rambling topics and then proceed to attempt to explain themselves over the next 300 posts and never really end up telling us anything we didn't know already. Is this a new way of marketing/spamming?

Not entirely harmless.
If you have an SSD, Windows will disable Prefetch and Superfetch since they don't really offer any benefit with an SSD. Re enabling them will actually create a lot of unnecessary writes that can decrease the life of the SSD.
