Macs - Why ONE Button Mouse?!!

I have a Mighty Mouse on my Mac. As you may already know, this mouse has 5 buttons (left, right, scroll ball (button), and two side buttons. However, I like the one-button mouse so much that I have turned all the buttons off, except for one. It's programable through the System Preferences.

I clone my PC's display via S-video on my TV on occasion to watch movies. I use a wireless mouse as my "remote control" from the couch and I have no need of my keyboard. With a mac, I would almost require a wireless keyboard as well, were I to want the same functionality.

So why do macs still have only a single-button mouse? Anyone?
