Yosemite works great on my early 2011 MacBook Pro with 8 GB of memory. I'm sure it will work fine on your Minii.

The reason I ask about the drive size is that it's possible you have a fusion drive, http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT202574

With that, you get two physical drives (one solid state and one spinning disc).
