Just now I wanted to send an email to my granddaughter, but a warning appeared saying the address sounded like a typo. It wouldn't allow me to send it. It said I needed to use the person's name in the email format and not a nickname. This is crazy. I'm not well and this is getting to me. Tomorrow I'm going to try and locate someone local to hire to change me back to Windows 8.1 and get rid of this invasive Microsoft Account. Dave described what to do, but I'm not up to it.

Turns out there was an error, but the way the message read, it said I'd used a nickname that looked like a typo. What it was, I'd put 2 periods between sbcglobal and net. The address had turned orange and I didn't notice the error. So at least it's not as bad as I thought.... although it's bad enough.

And it sounds like the usual vague MS error message led you astray.
