For those who had Win 7, you were offered a free upgrade to Win 10 a few months ago. Since the Win 10 upgrade, I can no longer use any of my Microsoft Office programs, to make a long time short, can anybody suggest other compatible word processing programs for Win 10?

What version of Office were you using? Some versions are compatible - some aren't:

You can also look at free suites, like Open Office or Libre Suite.

Do you use Windows 10 at work? If you do, you should have a Microsoft account through work. That should give you access to Office 365, which is free for business users.

What do you mean by "can no longer use any MS Office programs"?
What version do you have installed?

Upgraded my wife's laptop and the desktop from W7 to W10. All 2003 Office programs are working normally.

I had problems with the new laptop that I won't go into and lost mine going to W10. I'm using Open Office now and it's okay, but I'm not impressed with some of the things it won't do. Had to switch to Thunderbird from Outlook. Meh.
