I can highlight something, hit Ctrl-C, and then try to paste elsewhere and it isn't there. Same with Right-Click/Copy. Ctrl-X still works.

Suggestions, please.

Oh, and "PC, Windows 7, 64-bit operating system, etc."

yes, on your browser it won't work. Use the right click context menu.

BTW, the right click context menu has a great feature, where one choice is search Google in a new tab. Use it all the time.

Don't forget to select/ highlight first.

I did mention I'd tried the Right Click/Copy feature in the OP.

IIRC, there is code that can be inserted into a web page to disable (easy) copying.

you must have a weird setup. ctl-x does not work in the browser for me.

Turns out some websites block copying. Others have found similar problems to yours. Here's a discussion, although it's a bit old.

Good luck, and let us know the fix.

Ctrl-V works, it pastes the last thing it "remembers", not the last thing I tried to copy. If I Ctrl-X something that will remain in the cache.

Most often I'm copying the URL from the URL bar, but not always.
