I think the issue might be double clicking or quadruple clicking? IDK. But I can't copy and paste or even select text to put in bold or quotes or to delete or anything.

Yes, I re-started the pc.

Everything I post posts twice. That is what makes me think clicking once is clicking more than once.

Control Panel/Mouse/Buttons tab

Check the double-clicking speed. You can move the slider to the left and slow it down.

And check this:

If you have the option try a different mouse.

lol. You are not alone.

Windows 10?

Click on the magnifying glass icon next to the windows logo on the task bar. Type in control panel and you should get a link to it. "Control Panel desktop app".

Yes windows 10. task bar? lol. I see no magnifying glass but there is a space to have Cortona assist me. I searched for control panel and then mouse and I think I got it thank you. Now to play with the speed, thank you!

I am not sure that is the only problem. I set it really low and similar problem. Trying to correct above to capitalize Cortona, I had to click several times. It wanted to highlight the whole paragraph, so on, and then finally the least I could get it to select was the whole word to retype.

Try a different mouse. I seem to remember an earlier thread here with similar problems reported. A new mouse fixed it.

Another way:
- click once on the windows icon lower left on your screen.
- click the gear icon
- click the icon labelled "devices"
- click "mouse" in the left hand column
- click "additional mouse options" in the upper right corner.
- under the "buttons" tab is an item labelled "double click speed" This is what you want to work with. It has its own instructions.
