I replaced my keyboard because many of the letters had worn off and it was difficult to type especially in low light. There must be a cheaper way to remedy this. I am envisioning stick on letters which could be used. Is there such a thing and where to buy it?

Depending on the kind of keyboard you have, it may be better to replace the individual keys.

Keyboards with back lighting might be a good alternative since the letters are usually transparent plastic rather than paint, ink, or some other added material and therefore wouldn't wear off with use. Plus you wouldn't have to worry too much about using such a keyboard in 'low light' areas.

Personally though when I was growing up I'd just make my own paper letters and tape or glue them onto keys that had been worn down enough to be illegible.

I just found stick on letters and numbers on Amazon. People use them for scrapbooking. Come in different colors and sizes.

Yes, there are stick-on letters for keyboards. Have been for maybe 15 years or longer. Go to your office supply store, or look them up online.

You can probably buy secondhand keyboards in good condition on Craigslist or FBM for $5 or so, so why bother with buying stick-on letters? Heck, the new ones aren't that expensive.

Ya I give away about one keyboard every couple of months from the stash I had collected from being in IT.

Replacing keyboard is one of the easier fixes for a laptop. Certainly something you can manage if you're even a little bit handy. New keyboards are inexpensive and readily available.

I've done it once already. Stickers are cheaper and easier!
