Staples sells at list....
Hold onto your heart.
Rakin,
If you are tenacious on EBay, you can get 5100CN cartridges fairly cheap.
I won't pay more than $30 for B&W, or more than $50 for color.
I have bought B&W for as little as $1.25 + $9 shipping.
Even better are the prices on other consumables, like imaging drums and fusers. I maintain parts in stock.
Transfer Rollers are easy to recycle. I drilled a hole in either end to dump toner, and cover it with a patch of aluminum duct tape.
I have a couple that have been through a few cycles, and working great.
Watch the refill toners.
I quit using off-brand "pirate" toner, as I was going through imaging drums and wasting a ton of toner.
For sure, make sure you are not using the PS driver on non-pdf documents. I think that contributed, but a Dell tech told me that the toner just is not the same.
I have no regrets about using sealed Dell toner cartridges.
Staples gives $3.00 back on Rewards card for each toner cartridge. I just returned 39 I had laying around and yesterday received a Stapels Rewards check for $122.
