Hi -
Please save me from trying to navigate microsoft.com again for help!?

Unless I just don't 'get' it...I can't find a place to post a question that doesn't cost me $49...I have to hope that my issue is already discussed on a 'troubleshooting' page....
Anyway...here's the thing. I successfully configured my Outlook 2003 to get my email from my att.net account, so I don't have to use the web access only. (Only took me 8 months to get around to it

...but I printed out the tutorial with all the screen pictures and managed to do it. )
I sent some test emails to my other email accounts (gmail, aol) and they did indeed arrive. However...the Outbox for Outlook still shows the message as being IN the outbox, and when I close out Outlook I get that message about there being email in the outbox and it won't get sent if I close Outlook...
As I say...I know the email messages have been successfully sent, so why do they still appear to remain in the Outbox?? I'd just like to know whether I can assume my email is being sent without having to 'test' it all the time or call people and ask if they got it!!
I have Windows XP and a Dell desktop, if that matters at all.
I did get nice real time online help from an att.com customer rep on doing a configure tweak so my emails will also stay on the att.net site...when I did the initial configuration (which took about 8 minutes to download all the messages from att.net), it permanently took them off the website. I do want them to be in both places, and have now managed to do that.
I took so much of the guy's time though I didn't ask about the Outlook Outbox issue, though maybe that's not att.net's expertise...
Thanks for any suggestions, and also for future reference, WHERE I can go for microsoft office help that is free and relatively quick!
