running windows

for the last few days I've had one or more of my bookmarks/favorites just disappear.
Anyone know why that would happen?

Did you check the Recycle Bin to make sure the shortcut wasn't inadvertently deleted? Did they all disappear or just some of them? Are you using Firefox or IE?

IE and they aren't in Recycle Bin.
They just are ............poof-gone! Of course I found the sites and bookmarked them again but how and why they disappeared is just weird.

Usually what happens is that Windows has somehow "lost" the mapping to the Favorites folder. If it happens again, open Windows Explorer and go to C:\documents and settings\<your profile>\favorites. If the favorites are still listed there, you can try the fix at Reset the Shell Folders paths to defaults to reset the default path.
