My battery for my dell inspiron 700m laptop is just about gone. I was looking to get it replaced, in my search I've found a stat that varies on the batteries. Thats the mAh stat. My current battery is 14.8V and 2200mAh. While searching I've found 2000, 2350 and 4400mAh. I am just wondering what this stat refers to?

In short, it's the amount of energy stored in the battery at full charge. More mAh = longer runtime

Thanks. I'm always little cautious about frying electronics. Just wanted to make sure a higher mAh value wouldn't cause any problems.

No problems at all going with a higher capacity battery as long as it's the right voltage and good quality. There's lots of cheap Chinese junk out there though so do your research and buy from a reputable source.
