My Laptop keeps losinng picture (it doesn't go black - just white with black lines through it) I have to chase it's position to get the picture. If I push it forward or almost shut the picture comes back. It's almost like manipulating foil on a radio trying to get the station to come in clear. Other than this - no problems at all. The laptop is a year old. Any ideas what this problem may be? I'm trying to see if it's an easy fix before I take it into a repair shop.

Thanks for any help !

Do you have a warranty on it? This is typically a hardware issue with the display itself or the cable. Either way it would require repair by a tech unless you are technical enough to pull the laptop apart yourself.

X2, either the LCD panel or data cable needs to be replaced.

1. The lcd cable assembly is loose.
2. The inverter card may need to be reseated
3. The lcd itself has a thinline crack and needs to be replaced

Hope for number 1 or 2

If you are uncomfortable doing such a repair then I would take it to a shop. I would google around for your laptop model service manual first though. Read it up and see if it looks complicated to you first.

You are incorrect, any competant tech can replace an LCD panel, I do it all the time. Also your post has been reported for including advertising.
