I have RealTek for the sound and when I go to control panel and sound it works. Every time I open a browser or close it, it makes a beep sound, it still happens when I open on close a program, very annoying this is, how do I fix it? btw, OS is xp.
Start Menu>Control Panel>Sounds and Audio Devices
Go to the Sounds tab
Go to Program Events and click on the one for the sounds you don't want and in the dropdown menu change it to "no sound" (scroll up to the very top of the menu).
Or use the one at the top for "Sound Schemes" and change it to "No Sounds."
That should just affect sounds it makes for programs.
