Thank you once again. From what I have read on-line Westport looks fantastic. We will probably take a scouting trip in the next few weeks.

As everyone has been so knowledgeable can I ask what people think about Stamford? It appears to be a much shorter commute.

Stamford is not considered to have "good" schools by CT standards. I guess that their schools would be considered to be relatively safe for a city, but the academic achievement is impacted by the diversity of the student body.

Wilton train station has free parking and is on the Danbury line. The morning schedule has a few through trains with the trip taking from approx 80 to 90 minutes from GC. It's a bit trickier to get a through train on the return trip and may require a transfer in Stamford. There are many people in Wilton who either leave from S Norwalk or some from New Canaan (depending where in Wilton you live) because of the greater flexibility in trains. If your job has very regular hours (i.e you know which train you could catch with a lot of certainty) the commute is doable.

Wilton does fit the bill with great schools, larger lots and with housing coming down recently you should be able to find something in that range.
