I just called up Avalon (Huntington in specific) and inquired about their two bedrooms. The place looks nice but what bothered me was the fact that she said their rates can change daily!? I'm weary about signing a lease where my month to month rent could go up (or rarely down).

Does anyone here live at any of the Avalon communities? Can anyone comment on this daily price fluctuation? For now i'm pretty put off by it.

I think they mean that the monthly rent they quote before you sign a lease could change. Once you sign a lease, the rent will be the same each month as long as the lease is in effect. Jay

That's what I thought as well but she repeated that it could change from month to month within my lease!
I didn't even know that was legal.

I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can talk to someone else.

Btw Jay.. What do you know about the area where the new lofts at Towne and Yale are? Is it safe at night? Nice restaurants in the area? Or is still "up and coming"?

If they are doing that, it's legal. However, it doesn't sound like they give 12 month leases...sounds like its month to month. If you are looking for a long term rental, I would not rent there.

You are correct. They do 2-12 month leases.
