Mlassoff, did your friend live on Oakview, or was he in Crescent Park?

That's what I thought. But you never know, maybe in some elite towns they dare not call them trailers.

Sorry, I don't remember the name of the complex. It was on the Post Road closer to the Fairfield line.

Wow interesting bashing of our great Connecticut university system. I'm glad your friend went to a good high school and became successful. I too had parents that sacrificed for us to move to a better school system (region 15) then off to WCSU for a rewarding $$$ MIS degree. Of my HS peers that went to the IVYs only about 25% I would say have rewarding $$$ careers.

There are trailer parks in Danbury, Newtown, Milford, Shelton, Norwalk, Westport, etc. Some are very nice and some are not so nice. I have looked at a number of them as the prices are low and I am getting older and don't want a lot of property to take care of. I hate condo living with neighbors under me and next to me. Some of the trailers in Milford are relatively new and are well cared for with all amenities tht you need. They don't come with much land but a small patch to do a bit of gardening and some even have decks. I looked at one park in Danbury that is very nice with lots overlooking Kenosia Lake. My problem is I have two large dogs (a Greyhound and a Golden Retriever) and many parks limit size.

We're considering a mobile home. Even with the monthly fee, we'd be paying half what we do now (mortgage + taxes) for a small cape in Bridgeport. Not to mention we'd have it paid off in 5 years or so. Are mortgages for mobile homes hard to get? The idea is a bit scary but a mobile community in Milford or Newtown can't be any scarier than Bridgeport . We have a few (indoor) cats. Is there a general policy against pets?

No, mortgages for mobile homes are not hard to get as long as you can prove that you have a steady job. One of my friends lives in Northeast CT and was immediately approved for a mobile home mortgage after showing a year of pay stubs. The mobile community where she will be living does not mind that she has multiple animals (rabbit, cat, and dog); I am not sure if this would be true of more "upscale" communities.

Thanks. I meant more like, are there stipulations, not necessarily financially.

I remember driving buy a gorgeous trailer park somewhere in northern Greenwich. It was lined with stonewalls, had ponds with water fountains, benches, etc. The grounds were simply beautiful. I would live there in a heartbeat.
