Also, it's interesting that while New Haven is running away with the crown in the poll, Stamford is coming in second though it seems like Hartford offers more in regards to tourism.
Stamford would be hard pressed to compete with New York. There is just too much there. Take live theater and entertainment. Stamford can’t really offer much in the way of live theater because you have the very best in the world an hour away. In sports, how can Stamford offer even minor league sports when there is the largest professional sports center right there? Museums, the worlds best are there too.

To be honest I wonder how Stamford can be No. 2 in the poll. What does it offer? It’s got the Rich Forum and Palace Theater but not much else for theater groups. There’s the Stamford Museum & Nature Center but not much else. Maybe I’m missing something but what else in Stamford would attract tourists? Jay

Stamford is the one true satellite city of NY in CT.

Can't really compete against its superior.

My order:

NH
New London/Groton/Mystic
Hartford

The others don't have real serious tourism, but...
Norwalk
Torrington (Litchfield/Cornwall/Kent)
BPT

Stamford is dead last. Functionality at its finest but not much else.

Groton/New London would be my choice as well. I grew up in Groton and I have wonderful memories of being there.

Alive at Five?

But that can't be expected to draw NYC people with the outdoor music festivals and events (like Central Park SummerStage) they already have

I personally like the vibe of New Haven best, but second place for me would be Black Rock, third place Norwalk. Then maybe smaller towns like Middletown, Milford, West Hartford, Fairfield.

Stamford, not my scene for the most part. Very bro.
