There are many lakes in Connecticut but I do not really go to them. Are you looking for lakes with public access? Lake Pocopaug in East Hampton is nice but not sure if just anyone can go there. I hear Coventry Lake is nice too. Jay

Gardner Lake in Salem! Lake Pocotopaug is nice too, but as Jay said, not sure if it is open to the public. Good luck!

West Hill Lake in New Hartford. It is aquifer-fed and one of the cleanest lakes in CT.

Mt. Tom pond (lake) is lovely. There is a lookout tower, swimming, fishing, camping and much more. The lake is just south of Litchfield on old route 222.

check it out. You will like it.
P.S. There is a roadside stop near by, "Goosebery" and they have great clam rolls.
