about a month ago when i picked up my new car, i started playing with the new navi/audio system and came across a nice jazz station on the radio. i think the frequency was 100-something and i don't remember if it was AM, FM1 or FM2. but this was a Sat afternoon and the song i heard playing was a cover of Steely Dan's Babylon Sisters. it was really good - just as good if not better than the original. i liked the next song that came on too. good stuff.
anyway, numerous attempts at finding it again have failed so i'm hoping someone might have a clue as to what station this was. i think it was a Hartford station but am not sure.

There is a smooth jazz station on 100.5 HD2. However, it requires a special HD receiver to listen to it - and I don't believe these are terribly common.

My guess: a WNPR or College station that you tuned into. Maybe UHart's 91.3 FM or maybe even 100.9 FM.

Maybe this could help:

Best of luck, I know how annoying finding something good on the radio can be.

Even if you may not have been listening to 97.3, it couldn't hurt to call the station and ask to get in contact with the programmer for the jazz show. Even if they didn't play the Steely Dan cover, there's a good chance he/she may know who covered it. Any chance 2 of the members re-recorded it?
