In real estate, we tend to speak in terms of towns since hamlets and villages are irrelevant as they usually don't have separate school districts, mill rates, police departments, services, etc. Before anyone says, "No so fast," let me add that I am well aware of towns (Watertown, Meriden, etc.) with different mill rates for different parts of town though these are the exception more than the rule.
