I'm moving to CT for work within the next month and could use some help in regards to where to live and things to do. I'm a single young working professional and am looking to stay within the Norwich, Stonington, Groton, Mystic, and New London area as that is where my work will bring me. What area that maybe better focused for 20 or 30 somethings? Any help would be appreciated!

Kindly,
Jessica

That area of the state is somewhat rural, but your best bet IMO would be Groton (certain areas though). If not Groton, then I would recommend Waterford. Stay away from New London and Norwich, as they are quite depressed, crime ridden and sketchy. Niantic (part of East Lyme) isn't a bad choice either. Anything other than the towns I listed, however, are quite rural and dont' have a significant population of people in their 20s.

I don't necessarily agree with you that the OP should stay away from Norwich and New London. These are small cities with many nice neighborhoods and only a few that should be avoided. The other towns mentioned are good to but I would also consider Montville. Jay
