Rye is pretty close to Stamford so even with traffic shouldn't be too bad, I'd say 30 minutes worst case, and possibly as little as 10.

When asking for estimate on commute time in CT it is best to name a specific time for the commute. This goes to everyone asking the question.

From Stamford to Rye in morning:
Best: 20min
Worst: 35-45
Nightmares 4x a month: 45-60

In afternoons:
Best: 20min
Worst: 30-40
Nightmares 4x a month: 45-60

Yep, these are the ones that violate the law on a 55 mph freeway. I lost count of the amount of angry looks and middle fingers I've gotten for following the law when I briefly commuted between Stamford and Rye, a couple of years ago.

20 minutes for lawful driver

And after Greenwich and before Exit 21 to Rye, it tends to clutter up pretty fast between 8 and 8:45 am.

Besides, I spent more time getting into I-95 than on I-95 itself

Thanks. Times would be leaving at 7:15 am and heading back around 4-4:15 PM .
Would I avoid rush hour then? Trying to figure out what kind of work schedule I should try for .

True, but I was thinking more like if you live just a block or two from I-95 and your job happens to be the same. I live right next to the Hutch Pkwy. so I make some good times with no (or barely) speeding.

You have reverse commute so thats good. Going North in morning and south in afternoon. Those hours are fine. You'll find the ride to be smooth. Just keep in mind there are always accidents on that road(95) so be patient.
