Generally speaking does anyone know is there companies/offices that are in walking distance from any of the stops this line makes?

Lets say if I want to work in CT anywhere along that line in which I can walk from a stop.

Thanks in advance

There are major employment centers in Greenwich, Stamford, South Norwalk, Bridgeport and New Haven. There is also the Merritt 7 Office complex off the Danbury line in Norwalk. Not sure what companies are at these locations, but it is a start. Stamford would be the largest. Jay

Jay hit all of the bigger offices around train stations. Many towns have some offices around their rail stations. I used to work in Westport, a 5 minute walk from the train, and you don't really think of Westport as an employment hotspot. I would search for jobs in your field then map where their office is located in regards to train station location.

I also believe that some employers or office buildings offer shuttle services between the stations and their building during rush hour. This is to encourage use of mass transit. Jay

I would suggest that you use Google's map to look up the address of companies you are interested in because the map will show the train tracks and you can zoom in and see the train station.

Here are a few companies that I know are near train stations:

Royal Bank of Scotland(RBS) - Bridgeport CT
People's Bank Headquarters. 850 Main Street. Bridgeport, CT
University of Bridgeport
Very soon:Housatonic Community College

The Merritt 7 office park area:

Hewitt Associates’
Diageo North America
General Electric
Carlson Marketing Group
Vertrue Inc.
FactSet Research
Plus many more.........

I think Union Carbide is up in Danbury, I don't know if they are accessible via public transit.

This staffing company may be able to help
Merritt Staffing

And here is some info on mass transit:

Not sure why you have Housatonic Community College listed as "Very Soon". Housatonic has been downtown for many years now. Jay

Whoops.

I was thinking of the expansion that won't be finished for a while.

No problem, still a good list. The only other thing is that I believe Union Carbide is only a shadow of its former self. The Bo Pol,india accident really did a number on them and I believe that they are chopping up their Dambury Headquarters and selling it off. I alos do no think they are accessible to mass transit. Jay

I worked at General Electric in Stamford. They are big down there and they have shuttles between offices and the train station.
