That is a good point, I had begun to wonder about that, too.

There is so much focus on working "thyme" into the name, but I honestly don't think it will work. I have heard the word mispronounced a lot; many people who don't cook at home or have an interest in cooking have no idea how to pronounce the word when they see it even though they know what thyme is when they hear it.

Of the OP's narrowed down list, I like "A Taste of Greenwich" the most. It sounds formal and doesn't use wordplay or cutesy alliteration. I also like one of the posters' suggestions to use one word like "Bite" followed by (in smaller case) "Catering by Magdalena <Last Name>". It sounds somewhat "edgy" but also formal.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for all your ideas- it is going to be A Taste of Greenwich. I like the name the best. There is still a lot of work before I start, but I hope that you hear about me soon...in Greenwich, of course

Catchy and cute will be perceived as kitchy and tacky.

Since you say your business will specialize in dough-based items (such as breads and pastas), here are some possibilities:

Bread
A Village Dough Company (a play on phrases - Greenwich Village, and dough = money - also start with the letter A or you end up at the very bottom of the listings)
Greenwich Dough Company

Also, the reason Thyme isn't a good idea, is because it is cliche. Everyone and their brother wants to use Thyme. A Thyme for all Seasonings..Thyme and Season - Good Thymes - Thyme for Supper..blah blah blah just shoot me in the face and call it a day.

Thyme is overused, done to death, and eye-rollingly plebian. We're talking about Greenwich here, not Main Street USA Village Ye Olde Shoppeee.
How about "Bread Pit"
