was first hand witness to this last night (i'm a couple of buildings down).. really have to wonder what the heck the management company is doing about the snow and ice problem. i have icicles 5 feet long hanging off my balcony and minor water damage in my living room. wonder if there will be big time pressure put on them now now that this has happened. will only cost them more in the long run if they allow any of the buildings here to collapse.

evacuation

a correction.. both the Courant and Fox 61 reported Town Ridge as being a condo complex when in fact it is an apartment complex.

I think you are talking about the Town Ridge Apartments which had some issues. I saw this morning though that an historic building in downtown Middletown collapsed which is really scary. They had to evacuated several other buildings nearby in case this one came completely down.

On top of that Vernon schools are closed until they can get their roofs cleaned off and checked. Will probably be closed for the rest of the week. Very scary. Jay

Same with Ansonia and Shelton, and these school districts had over a week to prepare and get the rooftops cleaned.

I drove by right after that happened. I was convinced someone was killed in that mess. I am very happy to hear there were no injuries.
