In Storrs itself, I can think of only two, Senior Pepe's, which to me is a more fast food type of place. The other is Chuck & Margarita's Steakhouse & Mexican restaurant.More of a chain restaurant type place.

Much better options, in my opinion, are these two down the road from Storrs in Willimantic. They are Fiesta Cinco de Mayo and El Pilon. Both are good and have extensive menus.

Both are on Main St. in Williimantic. Fiesta Cinco de Mayo is just north of Eastern CT State U. near the hospital. El Pilon is a few blocks below Eastern.

El Pilon is good but its a Puerto Rican spot, not mexican. Personally, I'd prefer Puerto Rican over Mexican. Ive never been to 5 de mayo tho.

We love Cuban food. Is food from Puerto Rico similar?

Here's the menu from El Pilon. The foods are basically similar but I don't find much in the way of black beans in Puerto Rican cooking, although this item will be found in Cuban. Cuban food can also vary from which side of the island the cook originated. Check out the menu and see if it might be to your liking.
