How long is the commute from Amston to Storrs? We're house hunting via the internet, so far, and need some local help. If we are to work in Storrs - where are some good places to live? We LOVE historic homes or new well-built homes.

According to Google it is 33 minutes from the Amston to Storrs.

Also, are you committed to living in the Amston section of Hebron or would you look at the rest of the town? There's a great historic home more to the north Hebron, Ct 06248 Home - Real Estate and Homes for Sale - MLS #G559176 - Realtor.com®.

Amston is a section of Hebron and Lebanon. It surrounds a small lake named Amston Lake. It is a nice but somewhat rural area with the area around the lake typical of a lake community (cottages on small lots). I know that the OP had posted questions on high schools on another thread. If you live on the Hebron side of Amston your child will attend RHAM which performs well above the state averages on the Connecticut Mastery Test. If you live on the Lebanon side your child will attend Lyman high School which is a small school (about 600 students) that performs around the state average.

Amston is about 20 miles from Storrs but it is all back roads so the trip is about 30 to 40 minutes. Jay
