Hi,
I have a full time job, and I do real estate as a part time ( I know, I know...if you want to be succesful in real estate its more than a full time job...I agree), but for now I cant afford it.
I'm considering changing agencies simply because the one Im in, takes a huge chunk of my commission, and then on top of it additional 6% from my side...
I understand that agents use equipment in the office, but I do most of my bussines from home. I'm looking for an office where the split will be over 50% on my side, without any extra costs. An office where the manager would understand that I dont work full time- maybe the place where I could help some experienced agent to work as a team.
Any suggestions?
And please dont write about levels- if you make 20K then your split is 55-45 and so on... I need a better % of my commission when making less than 20K a year.

Thanks

Part timers get lil consideration by an agency anywhere. Alot of the cost is E&O insurance. Good luck though..

No suggestions from me -- I've got no idea.

I was just curious, though... What's happening with your catering business? Did you decide to hold off on that?

The cost to hold the re license is huge. Its not only E&O ins, all in all without the advertising its about 1,500 to have your license a year...if you want to advertise and do that you should spend about 5K a year...

What?? Not sure where that is directed... Once again, good luck if wanting to work under another broker and bartering for a much better split than you talked of. Part timers that bring in little $$$$$ compared to focused $$$$$$ raking fulltimers carry lil weight.

I've done the part time RE thing in 3 distinct regions so far, Central coast Cali, Florida, and for the second time in Ct. now.
