Thanks again for the continued help. It's nice to hear both sides of the story; I'm sure the truth is somewhere in between. All the discussion certainly helps me get a better understanding of the area.

Default other apts. in E.Htfd

Hi Ananag,

You could also try Willow Arms Apartments on Main Street in E.Htfd. I'm pretty sure that if you were to visit Brookside Commons that there's another apartment building nearby, maybe on High Street. You should see it if you are standing right in front of D'Esopo's Funeral Home which is across from B.C. There are also apartments across the street from 7-11 and Wendy's. The are next to Intercommunity Health Center (281 Main St.) The apartments next to the Health Center are some of the closest apartments to Pratt and Whitney, but I think that Willow Arms may be a 10 minute walk as well. There is also an apartment building on Main Street behind an adult bookstore, which is near East Hartford Tire. That apartment building is right across from Pratt and Whitney. Let me know if you have more questions.

By the way, the nicest area is where Brookside Commons is, but I've always felt safe in all of these areas.

Lee

Willow Arms Apartments would actually be about a 20 minute walk from Pratt and Whitney I think. I just passed by there on a bus today.

I just want to assure the op that, Middletown is hardly a "ghetto" and frankly I find people who use the term "ghetto" probably live in a town that is mostly white and use the term when they see a part of town where there are non-whites. Also, as a life-long resident of East Hartford, which similarly gets called a "ghetto", I would like to state that while there are some areas that have poverty and crime, it isn't half as bad as many people like to think it is.
